This week’s PE Activity of the Week is Traffic Lights, a fun, energising game that focuses on reaction time.
Active Superstars plan, coordinate and prepare fun, energising games for children to participate in during our sports sessions. We like to be as unique as possible and ensure children have fun whilst working hard and learning new skills. Each week we share our favourite ‘PE Activity of the Week’ to give you an insight into our sessions and provide some inspiration for games of your own.
The Object of the Game:
The children must listen to words shouted and if the begin with R, G or O for red, green and orange then they must to the action for the command.
Skills Acquired:
- Coordination
- Reaction Time
- Listening Skills
- Running
Instructions:
- Have one side of the room as the Red side and the other side as Green.
- When the children hear you shout a word beginning with ‘R’ they must run to the red side
- When the children hear you shout a word beginning with ‘G’ they must run to the green side
- When you shout a word beginning with ‘O’ they must stop and do 5 star jumps
