I Sent A Letter is this week’s PE Activity of the Week, which focuses on running and listening skills.
Active Superstars plan, coordinate and prepare fun, energising games for children to participate in during our sports sessions. We like to be as unique as possible and ensure children have fun whilst working hard and learning new skills. Each week we share our favourite ‘PE Activity of the Week’ to give you an insight into our sessions and provide some inspiration for games of your own.
The Object of the Game:
The object of the game is race around and beat the letter sender, should they pick you.
Skills Acquired:
- Running
- Coordination
- Listening skills
- Reaction time
Instructions:
- Players stand in a circle
- One child is chosen to be the sender who walks around the circle and says ‘I am going to send my letter to’ whilst going round the circle tapping each child’s shoulder
- When they tap the child on the shoulder and say ‘you’ the children must run around after one another
- If the sender gets to the place first they get to join the circle, and the other child is now the sender. The game repeats
