Christmas is a time for fun and food, and here are 3 great recipes that your children can help make - plus they’re healthy!
Rice Krispie Snowmen - No oven needed!
Ingredients
- 200g mini marshmallows
- 25g butter
- variety of toppings (chocolate chips, berries, smarties, white chocolate or yoghurt)
- Heat marshmallows and butter in a bowl in the microwave (in 10-20 second bursts)
- Once melted, pour in the rice krispies
- Roll the mixture into small balls to make the body, with a smaller ball for the head next to it, and place on greaseproof paper or a dish
- Use yoghurt or melted white chocolate to attach sweets to the snowman, giving him eyes and a nose and scarf
- Pop them in the fridge to set for 1 hour and enjoy!
Cornflake Wreaths - No oven needed!
Ingredients
- 2g butter
- Reduced sugar mini marshmallows
- 45g cornflakes
- Green food colouring
- Sprinkles
- Heat marshmallows and butter in a bowl in the microwave (in 10-20 second bursts)
- Add green food colouring to the mixture
- Stir in the cornflakes until they are all covered
- Mould and put onto greaseproof paper on a dish or tray
- Add the sprinkles on top
- Pop them in the fridge to set for ½ an hour/one hour and enjoy
Snowman Pancakes
Ingredients
- 1 and half large bananas,
- 2 eggs
- â…› teaspoon baking powder
- Berries
- Crack eggs and mix with baking powder
- In another bowl mash bananas and pour the wet mixture into this
- Cook small pancakes in a frying pan over low heat, flipping it to cook each side
- Serve up on a plate, adding one pancake for the head and another for the body
- Add blueberries for the eyes, strawberry for the nose and whatever other decorations you wish!
